We love to hear stories from parents, pastors, and especially teens! Take a look at just some of the testimonies we’ve received…
Critical Acclaim:
Altering the approach has yielded amazing changes between parents and teens who have participated in this conference.
From Parents:
We were blown away that all the answers that we were searching for to find peace in our home were readily available all along. Since we attended Crossing Thin Ice and we put the “Voice” into action in our home, we have seen a tremendous change in our children and ourselves and have been able to communicate so much more easily with our children!
My wife and I have read many parenting books but none of them use the model of Jesus and His disciples. I am constantly looking for shepherding moments instead of getting on my kids for something! It has made a difference in how they respond.
“The conference was amazingly revelatory for me. I have been questioning how to grow our relationship with our 14 year old. You answered my questions with clarity and that answer is shepherding vs protecting. Our daughter is growing up quickly and we can tell she wants increasing independence and trust but also has the need for her Mommy and Daddy still. We are incorporating your steps and seeing the change already. Thank you so much for continuing to train us through your blog and conference calls. This is such a timely message that we need to get out there if we want to save our children and our world. This is a ministry that deserves our support. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Succeed was excellent it, it even improved my relationship with my high school junior who was not even going to college.
I could have never had the discussions I had with my son without going through the Succeed Conference!
God’s goodness and timing is amazing. Last year your conference at Westminster Chapel prepared us for a stormy time as God exposed the dual life hidden in our daughter. Your words of life, urgency and transparency equipped us in a way we could not have been in our local church! Jeff, Thank you for your brutal honesty/walking in the light with us – you don’t know how much your testimony has ministered to me!
We have followed through with your homework assignments from the seminar and taken our oldest out to eat twice. We had a great time and she loved it. She and I have taken the Strengths Finder test and she loved that. She is loving this whole idea that we are helping her to discover what she wants to do with her life and make her own plan and that we are here to support her and help her succeed. It has made her more enthusiastic about school and her future and way more communicative. Thanks so much for your seminar!
Are you holding Succeed anywhere on the western slope of Colorado? We went with our son two years ago and it helped him in the transition. Now my daughter is a senior and heading to college next year. I want to attend Succeed with her.
From Pastors:
From a Pastor’s point of view this has healthy relationships written all over it! Healthy individuals make up healthy relationships… they also make healthy churches! Pastors should be jumping all over this!!!
I was extremely pleased with the whole weekend. I spoke with my Youth leadership team last evening and they also were very impressed and pleased with the weekend. The parents that I spoke with on Sunday after attending the the Conference were so grateful to have had the opportunity to sit under your teaching. They sincerely appreciated the common sense approach that you took and the challenge to move from a protection mode to a Shepherding mode in their parenting. I know that a few of the families, where only one spouse was able to attend and will both be attending the conference at Seattle Christian in October.
One student picked up by a grandma in Durango was a 9th grader. The grandma could not stop talking about how excited her granddaughter was when she picked her up. She talked about the event all the way home! The grandma said, “I wish more students…had attended…the students loved it!”
This was excellent! I wish I could have every student in our youth group attend.
Live video streaming is a hip and cool way to do it all and reach a ton of people.
It was full of practical, down-to-earth ideas for soon-to-be freshmen.
Students commented on the excellence of presenters, passion, and content…Seriously, a job well done.
Black Rock Community Church had 10 seniors attend their host site. They tracked them after the event and on to campus. 7 of 10 connected to ministries before leaving home, a primary goal of Succeed. The other three found ministries in their first weeks on campus. They had 100% transition success!
I remember what happened when I went to college. Succeed was right on the money. It hit all the major issues in a powerful and yet practical manner. The students and parents who attended thought it was great and really the challenges of heading off to college today. I think they will all connect to a ministry on campus.
From Teenagers:
Thank you for allowing me to participate in this wonderful experience. I shared my information with my church family and they too were very happy that I had this phenomenal opportunity to prepare spiritually for college.
[The] brutal honesty of speakers and the stories–helped me relate to their lesson.
I was going to leave at the lunch break for a cheerleading competition with my mom, but I decided to stay because it was interesting and answering many of the questions I had about college.
